Derryvane is only about 3 miles from Ballyderowen on the Burnfoot to Muff road. The Elders are also related to the Brown family of Lenamore in Derryvane. Gordon Elder still farms at Ballyderowen and is a ruling elder at Fahan Presbyterian Church.
