Jane married in Ireland James Robb c. 1856. He died there c. 1884-5. Their children were born in Co. Londonderry; the youngest reported Co. Donegal as birthplace (Source: Canadian Marriage Records). The eldest son, John Robb (born Co. Londonderry, 1857), married Eliza Burns, daughter of Dysart Burns (farmer) at Ballyarnett Presbyterian Church in Templemore Parish, Co. Londonderry in May 1884. Eliza Burns lived in Steelstown and Ballyarnett; John Robb (labourer), son of Jane Hughes Robb, lived in Carmoney Townland (Source: Marriage Record, N. Ireland).
