Robert Craig Elder (known as Roy) was my uncle. He was the third son of Robert and Helen Elder who lived at 21 Duke Street, L'Derry. His brothers David Kilpatrick Elder and John Emberson Elder and his sister Jessie Kilpatrick McCandless are also buried at Altnagelvin Cemetry. Their parents and grandparents are buried in Faughanvale Presbyterian Cemetry near Eglinton. Roy Elder played for Derry City football club in his youth and later for Brigade Cricket Club.
