I’m distantly related to Henry II & Henry I. My 6th great grandfather John III was a brother to Henry I. I’ve also made contact with Craig Elder in Medicine Hat Alberta & Luree Straup in Allerton, Iowa, both on the Henry branch. Looking to hear how we might be related.

In memory of John Elder, of Ballury, who died 29 July 1858, aged 53
and his wife, Maria, who died 15 January 1900, aged 93 years,
their son, Robert who died in New York, USA, 3 June 1880
and their son William died at Mettican, 17 November 1922, aged 82 years
his wife Agnes Ross Elder, 23 February 1918, aged 77 years
also their daughter Maria, died 5 November 1922, aged 82 years
Elizabeth, died 1 September 1929, aged 94 years
also Robert Ross Elder, who died 23 April 1941. Here lyth the remains of Robert Elder, late of Ballury, who departed this life on the 22 January 1842, aged 69 years.
This stone is found in the above John Elder's plot.

Henry was the first direct descendant to come to America from Ireland.
He arrived at Quebec City, PQ in 1834 from Londonderry, Ireland. he then
made his way to Beaver Co., PA to live and work in the Elder Woolen Mill
at Eldersville. After marrying Martha Gray in 1838, they headed west to
homestead in Coshocton Co., OH around 1841. His father Matthew arrived
to live with him in Iowa after his mother passed. Matthew is buried in
the family plot along with Henry, his 2 wives and one daughter, Sarah
Stewart Elder.

Mother: Rosa ? b: 1785 in Ireland

Marriage 1 Martha GRAY b: 1820 in Garvaugh, County Darrey, Ireland

He married Martha Gray 1838. Martha was born Londonderry, Ireland 1820. Martha
died 12 Oct 1856 Seceder Cemetary, Pleasant, IA, at 36 years of age.
He married Mary Boyd Calcutta, Columbiana Co, OH, 5 Oct 1858.
Mary was born OH 2 sep 1821.
Mary died 28 Nov 1896 Albia, Monroe Co, IA, at 75 years of
age. Her body was interred Pleasant Hill Twp, Monroe Co, IA.
